Well, as hard as it is for us to believe, the day finally came! Our sweet little girl turned 1! In what seemed to be just a few short months, the past year flew by and this milestone birthday was here. Don’t get me wrong, we had thought about it for quite some time. We had decided very early on that our “Little Laney Bug” would just have to have a Lady Bug themed 1st birthday party. And, I made it my mission to make sure that not one detail would go unnoticed for the big day! I mean, when you’re a designer at heart, you live, eat and breathe this kind of stuff… especially when it’s for your own kids.

So, beginning with the invitation, I started to create the experience that would be Delaney’s 1st birthday party! The invitation set the theme for the rest of the party. Everything to follow would have to fall in to this cute, modern and classy lady bug familiarity that we were beginning to create.

Once the invitation went out, the rest became much easier. It was just a matter of finding decorations, creating banners and finding inspiration for the baker so that she could easily stick with the theme. (Don’t worry, we’ll get back to the cake later.) So, when the day came along, all of the decorations fell right line so that all of our guests knew they had found the right place!

Now, the cake was a little out of my control. After finding an idea on Pinterest, I promptly sent it to our extremely talented and creative baker. (She is too modest to have a website or I would link here. But, you can always contact me for her information.) The idea I found fit perfectly with our theme and she executed it to a T. I always think that the cake, or in this case cupcakes, can make or break the look of a birthday party. So, it’s important to me to keep this in line with the theme.

The party went off without a hitch. There’s no denying, the most important part of the day is that we all celebrated Laney Bug turning 1. In the process, we enjoyed great cupcakes, beautiful decorations and great company!

So, now comes the last step. Sending Thank You cards. Delaney’s amazing family and friends showered her with beautiful clothes and exciting new toys. And, the festivities wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t take some time to thank everyone for coming and for the wonderful, thoughtful gifts! (Thank You card image coming soon!)

One of my many passions is to design birthday parties and other momentous occasions from beginning to end! I really hope you liked how Delaney’s party looked because I know we did.
